CBD PUNJAB EMBARKS ON PROACTIVE MEASURES TO COMBAT SMOG AND AIR POLLUTION.

       

In compliance with the directive from the Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, CEO CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, reviewed initiatives of the authority to curb smog and air pollution. Imran Amin, accompanied by a distinguished team, embarked on a thorough inspection of various sites, including CBD Punjab Quaid District, Ghora Chowk Flyover, and Walton Railway Crossing.

The collaborative effort included the esteemed presence of CBD Punjab's Chairman of the Board, Fazeel Asif Jah, along with the Executive Director Commercial CBD Punjab, Mohammed Omer, Executive Director Technical CBD Punjab, Riaz Hussain, Director Project Management CBD Punjab, Asif Iqbal, Director Construction CBD Punjab, Asif Babar, and Director Architecture CBD Punjab, Sameer Aftab. CBD Punjab Technical Team, Nespak representatives, and the official contractor actively participated during the visit.

One of the notable measures observed during the inspection was the efficient utilization of rainwater harvested from the tank at Saint Mary Park for sprinkling water on construction sites, which is helpful in curbing dust pollution, actively participating towards controlling smog and showcasing CBD Punjab's commitment to water conservation.

Furthermore, in a bid to enhance the region's green cover, CBD Punjab has initiated a large-scale plantation drive, contributing to the overall environmental sustainability efforts in the area.

While expressing his views during the visit CEO CBD Punjab, Mr. Imran Amin, stated, "Our concerted efforts to tackle air pollution and promote eco-friendly practices are in line with our commitment to sustainable development and a healthier environment for all."

CBD Punjab, being a responsible authority, is taking all necessary measures to control smog and air pollution. These precautions are a stepping stone towards a healthier and greener Punjab.

CBD PUNJAB HITS MAJOR MILESTONE FOR GHORA CHOWK FLYOVER PROJECT

                                           

Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA), also known as Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab), is committed to transforming the urban landscape of Lahore. In a recent development, CBD Punjab proudly announced the completion of 100% retaining piles and pile caps for the Ghora Chowk Flyover Project.

CEO of CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, visited the Ghora Chowk Flyover Project site to oversee the progress and chaired a comprehensive project review meeting. The meeting was attended by the Executive Director Commercial CBD Punjab, Mohammed Omer, Executive Director Technical CBD Punjab, Riaz Hussain, Director Project Management CBD Punjab, Asif Iqbal, and Director of Construction CBD Punjab, Asif Babar, technical team of  CBD Punjab and official contractor of the project.

 CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin emphasized the importance of completing the project on time, in line with the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi, further highlighting the project's transformative potential for Lahore's cityscape.

Imran Amin stated, "This project will undoubtedly change the landscape of Lahore, providing enhanced transportation infrastructure and facilitating the daily lives of the residents."

During the project update, the technical team briefed CEO CBD Punjab on the progress made so far, which includes the completion of 100% retaining piles and pile caps, 80% completion of concrete lean for the MSC wall, and ongoing steel fixing on piers. CBD Punjab has also taken steps to ensure minimal disruption by placing new signboards indicating alternate routes for the convenience of commuters. Installation of LESCO, SNGPL, PTCL, and  Safe City is also near completion.

The Ghora Chowk Flyover Project by CBD Punjab is poised to be a game-changer, marking a significant milestone in urban development for the city of Lahore.

Optimistic accountants embrace AI as profession shows desire to learn and adapt

        

A survey among members of ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) sees a range of key organisational benefits in adopting digital technologies including flexibility/adaptability, quality of products and services, sustainability performance, transparency and regulatory compliance (72%).

 

However, The Digital Horizons survey – which garnered 1,074 responses from ACCA members across the globe – noted that financial professionals still see the main benefit of technology as offering efficiency/process improvements: 52% ranked efficiency, internal process optimisation or cost savings in their top three objectives when adopting a new technology. 

 

Only 18% included competition-related reasons, such as responding to customer demands, enhancing market insights, introducing 24/7 capabilities, or maintaining competitive advantage.

 

Cost remains the top challenge when adopting technology, but organisational culture also remains a critical factor in successful adoption. 

 

The survey did see a more mixed response to how technology supports personal objectives. Productivity (cited by 85% of respondents), collaboration (76%) and career development (65%) were all strong but fears over job security were apparent, only 30% saying technology was supportive in that respect. The impact on career development was notably positive, with many roundtable discussions revolving around access to learning and more flexible opportunities.

Leadership emerged as a key theme in both the survey and the roundtables. Alistair Brisbourne, head of technology research ACCA, said: ‘Leadership is generally considered to be a cornerstone of successful innovation and yet it can seem quite vague as a concept when applied to digital transformation. At its core, embracing digital leadership means fostering a culture of innovation, encouraging continuous learning, and being open to change.

 

‘When we analyse the findings, it is clear that leadership is a fundamental trait of the most innovative organisations, and this tends to coincide with greater individual confidence amongst employees. Digital leaders inspire the confidence to embrace new tools and methodologies, such as AI and advanced analytics, which can dramatically transform processes.’

 

ACCA members show a high level of trust in artificial intelligence (AI). 70% agreed with the statement ‘AI can increase the amount of time I have to focus on business-critical tasks’ – only 9% disagreed, with 15% neutral. They were less sure of the idea of AI performing business critical tasks (50% agreeing, 21% and 22% disagreeing or neutral) but even so the numbers reflected a sense of optimism. 

 

Although just under one-fifth report the implementation of AI within their organisation, and another 8% are trialling initiatives, there are clearly great aspirations and a considerable opportunity to leverage these new capabilities.

 

Digital Horizons underlines the idea that the finance profession is well-situated to benefit from these technologies but realising their potential could require a mindset shift – thinking beyond mere efficiency gains towards a deeper understanding of value – as well as an adaptation of skills and practices.

 

Brisbourne said: ‘To a significant extent, AI is still thought about in terms of a gradual evolution of existing processes. From this perspective, the potential of AI is primarily in making the industry more efficient rather than thinking about how it could be fundamental to driving value related to new and existing demands.’

 

Basic AI literacy is key. Finance professionals must understand the capabilities, limitations and potential applications of AI within their specific domains. Marrying technical skill sets with strategic understanding will be essential to harness the true potential of technologies such as AI.

CBD PUNJAB'S CEO IMRAN AMIN LEADS PROGRESS REVIEW MEETING FOR GHORA CHOWK FLYOVER

            

Punjab Central Business District Development Authority also known as Central Business District Punjab (CBD Punjab), is making significant strides in its ongoing projects under the dynamic leadership of CEO Imran Amin. 

A progress review meeting was chaired by CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin to closely examine the progress of the Ghora Chowk Flyover, Executive Director Technical CBD Punjab, Riaz Hussain, provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing progress of the project The meeting was attended by the Director Business Development CBD Punjab, Ali Waqar Shah, Director Marketing CBD Punjab, Waseem Siddiq, Director Architecture CBD Punjab, Sameer Aftab, Director Construction CBD Punjab, .Asif Babar, along with officials from Nespak and NLC.

CEO CBD Punjab, Imran Amin, stressed the importance of adhering to the vision and directives of Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Raza Naqvi to ensure the timely completion of the project. 

While addressing the meeting Imran Amin said, "We are fully committed to completing the project in the stipulated time. This project is pivotal for the prosperity of the region, and will improve overall mobility in the area."

During the meeting, the technical team reported that all 33 retaining piles for the Ghora Chowk Flyover are completed and the boundary wall is also near completion. They also highlighted the round-the-clock work at the Ghora Chowk site, with three rig machines in operation. Additionally, the pile load test for the Ghora Chowk Flyover is also completed.

CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin was also given a brief update about other projects of the authority including the upgradation of Walton Road, the construction of a road connecting CBD Punjab Boulevard, CBD Quaid District, and Walton Road, the construction of an overhead crossing bridge at Walton railway crossing, the infrastructure development of CBD Punjab and the construction of the parking plaza at CBD Punjab project site.
